Straight Talks

Straight Talks is a club created to facilitate dialogue and intercultural exchanges at Drexel through a series of thought provoking and engaging panels throughout the year. This is a student led initiative to enrich the culture of Drexel itself, which is unique to other advocacy and social justice clubs which focus their energy outward. Our hope is to start important conversations at Drexel regarding sexuality, gender, ethnicity and culture in order to better understand one another. This separates us from other clubs which focus on only one specific aspect of identity. Furthermore, the student led moderated panel discussions provide a novel way for students to gain cultural perspective from their peers and to engage with each other in ways that simply can’t be recreated in a classroom. Our first Straight Talk this past semester received rave reviews, and we are hoping to expand in the future and really create a welcoming and inclusive community here at Drexel.
