The Black Women in Medicine Initiative aims to a.) educate, support, and motivate young Black, or minority women who are interested in a medical career, b.) increase awareness and address the needs of underserved communities in Philadelphia, c.) empower young women through anecdotes of current, excelling, Black female physicians, d.) cultivate an environment in which young women embrace their excellence, and foster relationships with individuals, more importantly women, from culturally diverse backgrounds, e.) take measures to proactively increase the number of minority women, specifically Black women in medicine.
