DUCOM WildMed puts on an event every year to educate future physicians about how to respond to disaster scenarios. The event begins at Queen Lane where we will go over a brief presentation on useful knots to know for expeditions and rescue. Continuing, there is a brief overview of assessing patients in wilderness settings and instruction on decision making skills in wilderness environments. The event then moves to Wissahickon Park where individuals are given roles to play as injured victims of a disaster and other club members attempt to properly assess and respond to their injured friends.
