Health for All: Providing Competent Care to Patients with Disabilities

Many health care providers are not comfortable serving or communicating with people with disabilities. In this Q&A discussion featuring a multidisciplinary panel, we will dig into:   -How can doctors respectfully and comfortably interact with patients with disabilities? -What do consent, communication, and self-determination look like for different individuals? -What intersectional barriers to care are faced by people with disabilities? -Why do adults with disabilities experience three times the risk of heart disease, diabetes, stroke, and cancer compared to the general population?
