Start a New Student Group

Are you interested in starting a new student organization? This process is overseen by the Director of Student Affairs and the SGA Student Groups Liaison. New Student Organizations will be approved two times each year: August and January. Follow the steps below:

  1. Check the Student Groups Directory to ensure a similar group doesn’t already exist at DUCOM
  2. If a similar group doesn’t already exist, complete the New Student Organization Request Form, which is reviewed by the SGA Student Groups Liaison and the Directors of Student Affairs
  3. If approved, you will receive an email from the SGA Student Groups Liaison to complete the SGA Student Organization Registration form. All SGA-recognized organizations are required to complete this form each year. SGA recognition entitles each organization to:

  • $500 student group budget for the academic year
  • Use of the name of Drexel University College of Medicine and associated logos or insignia of association
  • Use of University buildings and grounds

Suggestion: Set up a meeting with Ariel Basch, alg379@drexel.edu (Philadelphia) or Orcel Kounga (West Reading) to discuss a student organization idea or to brainstorm events for your organization
