We plan to host speakers who will inspire, educate, and empower us, as future health care leaders, to leverage our knowledge and compassion to make a much needed impact in the lives of others. At our introductory meeting, we will be providing an overview of the goals of the organization, and our goals as a chapter. These include the following topics, but we welcome your input as well: The physical and psychological effects of torture and sexual violence Forensic documentation of attacks on civilians The unnecessary and excessive use of force during civil unrest The protection of medical institutions and health professionals working on the frontline of human rights crises Health care as a human right Gender issues Environmental health We hope to see you soon to discuss all this and more!
