HOP Educational Series – Streetside Clinic (The role of Advocacy)

Who: HOP Educational Series – Streetside Clinic   What: Learn more about patient advocacy and how you can advocate for patients in the Philadelphia community as a Drexel medical student! Patient advocacy is an integral part of any healthcare team, but advocacy takes many shapes and forms. Many HOP clinics and DUCOM programs use advocates as an invaluable tool to help patients understand their health, the health care system, and how to access resources beyond the clinic. As medical students, learning about patient advocacy is integral in developing effective clinical communication skills and in understanding the innumerable obstacles patients face when receiving healthcare.   This will be a panel discussion with some of our MS2 advocates, so bring questions and your curiosity. (There will also be food! #yummers)   Where: Aud A   When: 6 pm Tuesday, September 26     Please be sure to fill out this google doc, so that we can have an accurate head count.
